Official Medal Ceremony: Six trophies and three Grand Gold medals awarded at 2025 South Africa Selection by CMB

Groenland, Select Beverage Company, Quoin Rock, Sabrage Cap Classique, Beyerskloof and Alvi’s Drift take top honours

A celebratory luncheon held early in October in Paarl, marked the official recognition of excellence in winemaking and distilling across the region, as the South Africa Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB) awarded top accolades to standout producers of this year’s competition.

A total of six trophies and three coveted Grand Gold medals were presented to entries that demonstrated exceptional quality in the 2025 South Africa-based edition of the globally renowned competition. Opening the event, Flip Snyman, General Manager of main sponsor Multi-Color Corporation Paarl, commended the standard of entries and the importance of the initiative. He noted that MCC is honoured to be associated with this dynamic competition and proud to support the South African wine industry.

Adhering to CMB’s rigorous international standards, all the competition’s processes are audited by the Belgium Service Public Fédéral belge de l’Economie (SPFE), with only the top 30% of submissions being eligible for medals. This ensures that every award carries a mark of exceptional merit and that the awards remain sought-after and exclusive.

A tribute to our sponsors:
Competition’s director, Lorraine Immelman, gave thanks to the sponsors and supporters of the competition, and commented on the vital role of sponsors: “you provide essential financial support which enables us to maintain high standards, attract top-tier entries and ultimately reach a wider audience. Your contributions not only help operational costs such as venue and storage rentals, the costs of our judging panels (flights, accommodation, transport and meals), marketing and social media costs and the production of our trophies and medals, but allows us in general to ensure that the competition runs smoothly and gains prestige.”
