We are open for 2024 registration and entries!

Registration and on-line entries open on 1 June for the inaugural South Africa Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (https://www.southafricaselection.com/en/registrations/)

  • Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB) is one of the world’s most established and respected wine and spirits competitions, currently in its 31st Early in 2024, CMB appointed Lorraine Immelman to establish and manage a national competition in South Africa, supported by our excellent, long-standing reputation.
  • All CMB competitions are meticulously audited by the Service Public Fédéral belge de l’Economie (SPFE), while CMB also adheres to the strict competition rules set forth by the European Union.

Entering this exciting competition will not only create unique opportunities for local producers to showcase their products on local and international markets, but also position our South African products on a global platform,” says Lorraine.

CMB’s judges are professional tasters, but they are also retail and hospitality buyers, journalists and oenologists who add real marketing support for awarded products.”

  5. Kurt Schlechter: Voted #46 among the world’s most influential individuals in the liquor industry and mastermind behind the CauseEffect concept in Cape Town.

In addition, CMB offers entrants and winners real value, including:

  • valuable feedback from the judging panels on every wine entered and tasted, including an Aroma Wheel and a detailed analysis with actionable insights.
  • the Wine and Spirits Experience by CMB concept currently has Wine Bars and Wine Corners in various cities and airports around the world (including Mexico City and Tokyo). These tasting venues are exclusive venues for CMB medal-winning wines, including South Africa;

Important detail for entrants:

  • The 2024 South Africa Selection by CMB opens for entries on 1 June and closes on 31 July. Samples may be delivered from 1 July to our warehouse at Longridge Wine Estate in Somerset West. Judging takes place from 18 – 20 September in Cape Town.
  • To enter, we require only three bottles of wine and two bottles of distilled spirits.
